Our First Time in Korea: A Couple’s Travel Guide to Busan & Seoul

South Korea has been on our travel bucket list for years, and this trip finally made it happen. As a couple visiting Busan and Seoul for the first time, we were excited, curious, and ready to explore everything—coastal views, iconic landmarks, delicious food, and the high-speed KTX bullet train. If you’re planning a Korea trip soon, here’s a warm, personal look into our full adventure.

Starting in Busan: Coastlines, Culture & Relaxation

Gamcheon Culture Village

Our first major stop in Busan was Gamcheon Culture Village—the colorful hillside neighborhood filled with art installations, murals, and small shops tucked into winding alleys. It feels like walking inside a storybook. We spent time exploring lookouts, grabbing snacks, and taking photos of the pastel homes layered across the hill.

Spa Land at Centum City

If Busan had a reset button, Spa Land would be it. With themed saunas, hot baths, and lounging areas, this Korean spa experience was both relaxing and fascinating. It’s a must if you want to unwind and experience local wellness culture.

Haeundae Blueline Park & Sky Capsule

One of our favorite moments was riding the Sky Capsule along the coast. The ocean views were stunning, and the capsule felt like a cozy little pod just for the two of us. We loved how peaceful the ride was—perfect for couples or anyone wanting scenic content for a travel vlog.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

This seaside temple blew us away. Built right on the rocky coastline, it’s one of the most beautiful places we visited in Korea. Hearing the waves crash while walking among stone lanterns and temple structures created such a unique and calming experience.

Jagalchi Market

To wrap up our Busan adventures, we stopped at Jagalchi Market, known for its fresh seafood. Even if you’re not planning to eat there, just walking through the bustling aisles gives you a look into Busan’s maritime culture.

KTX Bullet Train: Busan → Seoul

Taking the KTX train felt like a rite of passage for first-time travelers in Korea. The train was clean, spacious, and incredibly fast. The ride took under three hours, and with luggage storage and comfortable seating, it was an easy way to transition between cities.

Exploring Seoul: History, Food & Iconic Landmarks

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung was our introduction to Seoul’s history. With its grand architecture, mountain backdrop, and vibrant colors, the palace felt timeless. If you’re filming or taking photos, every corner looks like a postcard.

The Golden Pig (Geumdwaeji Sikdang)

This Michelin-rated restaurant became one of our favorite meals of the trip. The pork was tender, flavorful, and cooked right at the table—Korean BBQ at its finest.

N Seoul Tower

Despite the snow and transportation delays, heading up to N Seoul Tower was worth it. The views were dreamy and romantic, especially with the snow falling softly around the observation deck.

Starfield COEX Mall

This massive mall is home to the famous Starfield Library, which is even more stunning in person. If you love aesthetics, books, or shopping, this place is a dream.

Rolling Pasta & Yukodo BBQ

We ended our Seoul food adventures with comfort food from Rolling Pasta and another round of delicious BBQ at Yukodo. Both spots were warm, cozy, and perfect for a chilly winter night in Seoul.

Final Thoughts

Our first trip to Korea was everything we hoped for—beautiful views, delicious food, cultural landmarks, and unforgettable memories as a couple. Whether you’re planning a trip to Busan, Seoul, or both, we hope our experience helps you build your perfect itinerary.

If you want more Korea travel content, stay tuned—there’s definitely more coming!
