Riding the KTX Bullet Train: A Smooth Journey from Busan to Seoul

Taking the KTX bullet train from Busan to Seoul was one of the most efficient and enjoyable parts of our South Korea trip. If you’re planning to travel between these two cities, the KTX is a must!

We arrived at Busan Station about two hours early so we could explore before boarding. The station is bright, clean, and easy to navigate. One of the highlights was stopping by the Kakao Friends store, which was filled with fun characters and cute souvenirs. We also picked up a few last-minute Busan-themed gifts.

Before heading to the platform, we grabbed breakfast at Coffee & Toast, a cozy little café inside the station. The toast was warm, the egg sandwich hit the spot, and the coffee was exactly what we needed to start the day.

Boarding the KTX was easy and organized. Once we found our train car, we placed our luggage in the designated storage area and made our way to our seats. The train was spotless and the seats were very comfortable, plenty of legroom, retractable footrests, and even charging outlets for phones. It felt more like a quiet airplane cabin than a train.

The ride from Busan to Seoul took just under three hours and was incredibly smooth. We enjoyed watching the countryside pass by and had time to relax, charge our phones, and review our travel plans. The KTX definitely made the journey feel short and stress-free.

Once we arrived at Seoul Station, we still had to commute about two more hours to Songdo, where our hotel was located. Seoul’s subway system is excellent, but it’s good to factor in extra travel time if your accommodations are outside the city center.

Overall, we loved our KTX train experience; it was fast, clean, comfortable, and super convenient. It’s a great way to explore more of Korea without the hassle of air travel. If you’re heading from Busan to Seoul (or vice versa), we highly recommend giving the KTX a try!
