Explore Busan’s Hidden Gems: Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Yeyjie Korean BBQ, Haeundae Blueline Park & More

Busan, South Korea’s vibrant coastal city, is one of my favorite places to explore. From stunning ocean views to hidden cultural gems, it’s a city that offers endless inspiration for travel and vlogging. On one unforgettable day, I visited Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Yeyjie, Haeundae Blueline Park, and Jangin Dakgalbi—and I want to share my experience with you.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple – Spiritual Serenity by the Sea

We kicked off the day with a visit to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of the few seaside temples in Korea. Perched on rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean, the temple offered breathtaking views unlike any other I’ve seen.

Walking up to the temple, we passed rows of stone lanterns and zodiac statues, which made the approach feel special and serene. The temple grounds were peaceful and perfect for reflection as well as capturing stunning visuals. The main shrine overlooks the sea, creating an incredible backdrop, especially during sunset.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is pure magic. The golden light, crashing waves, and temple silhouette come together perfectly. Just remember to be respectful, as it’s an active place of worship.

Lunch at Yeyjie – Korean BBQ Your Way

Next up was Yeyjie, a Korean BBQ restaurant where you get to pick from different cuts of pork and beef to grill yourself over a traditional charcoal grill.

They had an impressive variety of banchan (the small side dishes that come with Korean meals), ranging from spicy kimchi to fresh pickled veggies. Each side added a burst of flavor and texture to the meal.

Afternoon Adventure at Haeundae Blueline Park – The Perfect Coastal Kickoff

In the afternoon, we headed to Haeundae Blueline Park, this park runs along the old Donghae Nambu Railway Line and offers a unique way to experience the city’s stunning ocean views through two main attractions: the Haeundae Sky Capsule and the Beach Train.

The Sky Capsule is a colorful, elevated ride that moves slowly along the coast, giving you a bird’s-eye view of the sparkling East Sea, cliffs, and shoreline. It’s perfect for vlog footage and Instagram-worthy shots. For a more traditional experience, hop on the Beach Train, which travels between Mipo, Cheongsapo, and Songjeong stations.

  • Mipo Station: Close to Haeundae Beach, a great spot to start or end your ride.
  • Cheongsapo: Known for its twin lighthouses and quaint fishing village vibes. Grab a snack or coffee from the seaside cafes.
  • Songjeong Station: Popular for surfing and beautiful views of the open sea.

There are also walking trails, photo zones, and viewing platforms scattered along the route. I recommend starting early in the morning to avoid crowds.

Jangin Dakgalbi – Spicy Dakgalbi Done Right

We wrapped up the day with dinner at Jangin Dakgalbi, famous in Busan for their spicy dakgalbi. If you haven’t tried dakgalbi before, it’s a Korean dish made of marinated chicken stir-fried with vegetables, rice cakes, and sometimes noodles, all cooked right at your table.

The spicy sauce packed a flavorful punch without being overwhelming, and the charcoal grill added a delicious smoky touch. The portions were generous, and the variety of fresh ingredients made it a satisfying and hearty meal.

If you’re looking to experience authentic Busan-style dakgalbi, Jangin Dakgalbi is definitely the place to go.
