From Osaka to Busan – Taking a Cruise for the first time

Our Last Day in Osaka & A Cruise to Busan

For our final day in Osaka, we packed in as much fun as possible—golf, games, and batting cages—before hopping on the PanStar Cruise to Busan! It was our first time on a cruise ship, and I’m so glad it was a memorable experience.

First Stop: Golf & Games

Rather than heading straight to Osaka port, we decided to check out Golf Suminoe and Mag’s Suminoe next door.

Golf Suminoe

Golf Suminoe offers an indoor driving range, a virtual 9- or 18-hole course, and rental clubs. For 1,000 yen, you get 60 balls, and club rentals cost about 500 yen, valid for nearly two hours.

The facility was clean and well-organized, with amenities like hotel towels, vending machine beverages, and seating areas—a great spot for golf enthusiasts or casual players looking to practice.

Mag’s Suminoe

Right next to the driving range, Mag’s Suminoe offers a bowling alley, batting cages, pool tables, darts, and arcade games. We only had time for the batting cages, so we headed straight there.

For 400 yen, you get a token that grants 20 pitches from the machine. You can also rent a baseball helmet if needed. It was a quick but fun stop before making our way to the port!

Osaka Port International Ferry Terminal

I booked the Osaka to Busan cruise on PanStar because it was much cheaper than a flight—and since it was our first cruise, I was excited to make the most of it!

At the Port

PanStar Cruise has its own lounge where passengers can wait before boarding. We arrived a few hours early, but unfortunately, all the seats at the observation deck were already taken. If you’re traveling from Cosmosquare Station, you can take a free shuttle to Osaka Port—something we wish we had known before opting for an Uber.

Waiting at the port was an interesting experience. Unlike an airport, there aren’t restaurants or convenience stores nearby—just some seating and an observation deck. If you plan to be there for a few hours, bring snacks and drinks to stay comfortable!
