I finally tried bungeoppang (붕어빵) for the first time in Seoul and it did not disappoint! I stopped by the Hardang Jaglachi Station Branch, where this iconic Korean street food is freshly made. Shaped like a fish and typically filled with sweet red bean or custard, bungeoppang is the perfect warm snack on a cool day. I chose the bean & seed and custard filling, and the crispy exterior paired with the soft, sweet inside was incredibly satisfying. I was surprised I preferred the bean & seed filling bungeoppang over the custard bungeoppang.
The street food scene around Hardang Jaglachi Station Branch made the moment even better friendly vendors, the smell of fresh batter, and that bustling yet cozy Busan atmosphere. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting Korea, especially if you love local eats and authentic travel experiences.
Whether you’re a foodie or just curious about Korean snacks, bungeoppang is a delicious bite of Busan you won’t want to miss!
