Food vendors at Osaka Castle
Near Osaka Castle’s entrance, you’ll find a variety of food vendors selling meat skewers, yakisoba, strawberry tanghulu, and so much more.
Our food haul included Kobe beef stick, fried chicken, strawberry and muscat tanghulu, pork tongue skewer, yakisoba, and beef croquette.
Onigiri Gorichan
This hole-in-the-wall spot had the biggest onigiri I’ve ever seen! We got the set which included two onigiris and miso soup. Lyle got the beef and curry, and mackerel and kimchee while I got the pork kimchee and salmon mayo.
Kani Doraku
Known for its giant crab sign, Kani Doraku offers omakase crab bentos for a reasonable price. They make the food fresh so be prepared to wait for your food to be ready. The wait is worth it! Even their shoyu (soy sauce) packet is in the shape of a crab!
Osaka Ohsho
This gem in Dotonbori is famous for its unique Chinese dumplings made with Japanese beef. You can order takeout from the window or dine upstairs.
After a long day of walking, we opted for a sit-down meal. Using the tablet at our table, we ordered original dumplings, Chinese noodles, Gomoku fried rice, and roast pork for about 3,000 yen.
